A joint effort of North Bullitt Christian Church, Salt River Christian Men’s Fellowship, and Men for Christ, Journey Christian Church in Shepherdsville was launched October 10, 2010. Under the leadership of Bro. Jeremy Willis, the group has continued to grow to a weekly average attendance of 603 with 48 baptisms this year. From the initial meetings in the Shepherdsville Elementary School, they now meet in their own building. Please make a special effort to attend this meeting. They want to welcome you and show you around!

It’s crazy to think it has been that long. The first one will live in me forever. It was amazing and scary all at the same time. Yet, I also remember asking myself the next day if anybody will actually come back. There was this feeling of “did I just make a huge mistake?” But now, 364 Sundays after, I can only look to the future and ask “What’s next?” A shift happened a few years ago and I began to really believe what Paul wrote in Ephesians 3:20. “Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.” I can say that I always believed in those words, but now I have lived it. So for me, I am moving on from where we’ve been and what we’ve done to something that fills me up. What really gets me excited is to think about what God has done in changing lives – including mine – and helping to change a community through his mighty work, and to really believe that our best days are yet to come. So sure, we’ve grown, and yes we own a building and things from a statistic standpoint are going well. But to think that the best is yet to come. To think that in our lifetimes we may never see fully what this thing that we’ve been a part of fully becomes. That’s the driver. Let’s talk about that. Let’s dream more and believe more so in seven more years, we can look back and be astonished by what He’s done. – Bro. Jeremy Willis, Journey Christian Church, 416 Buckman Street, Shepherdsville, KY
