Church Planting/Building Efforts

As stated in our Mission Statement, our ministry is in the strengthening and establishment of Churches after the New Testament pattern.  This can only be accomplished by the generosity of donors both at the meetings and in our sister congregations.  There are a number of different ways for individuals to help support the mission:

            *  Prayer
            *  Volunteering time and services to the needs of Men for Christ, and local churches
            *  Love offerings in a local congregation
            *  Contributing during our monthly meetings
            *  A monthly mission offering to Men for Christ

The Ambassador Fund

One special way of donating to Men for Christ is by pledging to be an Ambassador.  An Ambassador is an individual who donates monthly, anywhere from $10 to $50.  With the help of generous individuals and local congregations, we can continue the wonderful work of spreading the Gospel message across the  state by planting and supporting congregations.  If you are interested in donating to Men for Christ or have questions, feel free to write our chairman, and he will be glad to give you further details.  If you are interested in becoming an Ambassador, simply click here to open our pledge card, print it out, and follow the mailing instructions.

Recent Church Works

After much prayer and investigation, Bridge Pointe Christian Church in Hopkinsville was officially launched on Easter Sunday, 2007.  It had been several years since Men for Christ had established an entirely new work.  Hopkinsville was chosen because of the lack of an Independent Christian Church in a rapidly growing area.

Under the leadership of Keith Sage and his wife, Leisa, Bridge Pointe has made much progress.  Most of their time has been devoted to developing a core group.  Men for Christ continues to pay the minister’s salary at Bridge Pointe.  However, for the developing core group to make significant progress, more resources are required.  The Liaison Committee is encouraging individuals, Sunday School classes, and churches to partner with Bridge Pointe to provide the resources to meet the general operating expenses.  Among these expenses are weekly rent of $200, general office expenses, advertising, and outreach campaigns.

If you are willing to help, you may send a one-time or a monthly contribution to Bridge Pointe Christian Church, P.O. Box 1092, Hopkinsville, KY 42240.  Bro. Keith Sage may be reached at 270-886-1915 or 270-719-2016.  The email address is  bridgepointecc@bellsouth.net.

Russellville Christian Church is located in Russellville or Logan County, which boasts a population of over 27,000. This new congregation held their first services on November 6th, 2005. Brent Crabtree, Minister, is a graduate of the Master's program at Johnson Bible College, and he owns a business in Russellville.

The Life Bridge Christian Church in Louisville was partially funded by Men For Christ, and is succeeding in its outreach efforts.  Services began for this new plant on March 27, 2005 after months of a small group Bible study. More than 100 attended the first service. David Cordrey is the minister and church planter for this new congregation that meets on the campus of Louisville Bible College.

Early Churches Works

The congregation of the Owensboro Christian Church was established in 1953 and was the first “new church” aided by Men For Christ. They soon became self-supporting.

The Magnolia Street Christian Church in Harrodsburg was established in 1952. In 1956 Men For Christ began giving aid and by 1958 the building was dedicated and the congregation was self-supporting.

The Southern Heights Christian Church began meeting in September, 1974 in the YMCA in Somerset. The building was started in the fall of 1976 and occupied in June, 1977.

The Westside Christian Church in Liberty came into existence in 1959 meeting in the local high school. In the same year land was purchased, a basement constructed, and in 1963 the main structure was completed. Men For Christ was never asked for help but did give $100 to show their “kinship” of being of “like precious faith.”

The Mannsville Christian Church was established in 1958. Men For Christ gave aid in its infant years until the congregation became self-supporting.

Community Christian Church in London was organized in 1969. A building was erected and dedicated in 1974.

The Greensburg Christian Church was established in 1959 and met for fourteen months in a rented residence. Men For Christ aided this work.

Indian Hills Christian Church in Danville was started in 1961. In 1964 a parsonage was built and used for worship and Sunday School until March 1969 when they moved into their sanctuary. The basement of the parsonage was still used for Sunday School and Scouts until 1976 when they began using all of it for Sunday School and offices and rented a house for their minister, Odis Clark.

Bowling Green Christian Church came into existence in 1962, but it was 1963 before Men For Christ was able to provide them the necessary assistance to go forward.

Glenview Christian Church in Glasgow began in 1968. They met in a store-front until December 1973 when they occupied their sanctuary.
